My name is Nona Muldoon… I’ve started to build a tapestry of my headshots but it’s work in progress. I will post it here soon, as a means of immortalising my physical development 🙂 Currently, this is what I look like.

Vital stats

Small built, 5′ 1″ and currently weigh 47.5 kgs but my weight fluctuates between 47 to 50, pity about the sense of permanence with the height after a certain age!

Places of residence

I lived in Manila, Philippines before moving to Bathurst, NSW Australia in 1986. I had a stint in Wagga Wagga, NSW for just over a year and now live in Rockhampton, QLD.

Education and Career

I hold qualifications in education, I specialisied in instructional design and eLearning in post compulsory education contexts. I occupy an academic position at CQUniversity Australia, working as an Educational Developer. I am involved in a number of curriculum development and renewal projects at the University, and I am also actively involved in other institution-wide initiatives for enhancing the quality of the student learning experience.

I am interested in understanding factors that contribute to better educational outcomes in professional education – this is an area of study in my PhD research.

My other scholarly and research activities concern investigating the impacts of curriculum designs underpinned by the theory of situated cognition and the seven principles of good practice, with particular focus on the informed use of educational technology to enhance learning and teaching. Having worked as educational designer for over eight years within the business discipline, I have developed an active interest in this field and have undertaken funded research, in particular issues in accounting education.

I am passionate about finding out how learning really happens. I hold a particular belief and have expressed this in my educational philosophy. My understanding of learning is evolving though and I hope to extend this in my PhD study.

Reading, gardening and collecting interesting artifacts for the home are things that interest me. I have recently learned furniture restoration but I have a long way to go.
